The Pansarbandvagn 302 entered service with the Swedish Army in 1966, and is the standard armored personnel carrier for this service. Fully amphibious, the vehicle is equipped with a Hispano-Suiza 20-mm cannon for use against ground and airborne targets. Inside the vehicle, 9 fully armed troops (equivalent of a small squad) rode in the seats. The three crew people are the following. To the right, someone operated the battle-hatches, the center crewmember drove the APC, and the crewmember to the left operated the 20-mm cannon. Many variants of the basic model exist, including a command vehicle, an armored reconnaissance vehicle, and a recovery vehicle.
