JOSEF
STALIN TANK GUN USSR
The
Josef Stalin was one of the heaviest gunned tanks in WW2 (biggest tank gun:
Jagdtiger: 128-mm cannon). No other tank could outshoot it. This gun, retrieved
from a street in Berlin in May, 1945, was still in the upside-down turret of a
destroyed JS-1 tank. It was the last Soviet tank to be destroyed before Berlin
fell to the Soviets (hit by a Panzerfaust, a German RPG). The improved
JS-2 appeared in 1944, and later, the JS-3 made its first appearance in the Victory
Parade in Berlin, 1945. Overnight, the JS-3 rendered most other tanks obsolete.
