Issue # 3 "ON TRACK" NEWSLETTER July, 2006
Clubs!
The Museum is now the host of several specialized military history clubs! The
founding of these three new clubs has brought the community of military history
enthusiasts into daily life at the Museum. To join one of the following
clubs, you simply need to join the Museum as a member and then show up to the
meetings!
Flames of War
The "Flames of war" club, is a few members that meet at the museum every other Wednesday evening to play the exciting "Flames of War" WWII table top war game. The models are sold in our gift shop, and most hobby stores. You build them, paint them, and then enter the field of battle! Combat results are determined with dice, rulers and the well used rule books.

1/6th scale Diorama club
The "1/6th club", is a club of modelers obsessed the with 1/6th scale version of WW2.
These models are very large and highly detailed. These are not kids playing with
toy soldiers, But adults who have custom built models costing thousands of
dollars! It's very neat to see the stuff when its set up, The club sets up a
temporary diorama every open turret Saturday, be sure to see it!

Airsoft
Another popular war-game is coming to the museum, airsoft is basically a
battle reenactment turned into a tactical war game. The museum’s airsoft
players, wearing authentic period uniforms, supplied no less than 12 reenactors
for the memorial day parade!
Restorations
Restoring a military vehicle is no easy task. Thanks to Ken Lelacheur, the museum's Ferret armored car, was repaired to running condition in time for the Memorial day weekend.
Museum Vehicle Directors Rich Licarie, Alan Barto, and James Monette continue to make progress on the museum's "Kettenkrad", we are currently in need of a carburetor, air filter box, and gear shifter, any help would be greatly appreciated!
NEW WEB PAGE:
While surfing the net to see this newsletter, you may have noticed the new format of the web page. The aged and bland webpage that has served the museum for many years now has been replaced with a colorful modern page. There are now many more options, and lots of custom made museum specific graphics. Here in the 21st century, a web page can make or break a persons decision to visit the museum. Best of all, the page was made by the museum staff! Check out the new web page! http://www.usmilitarymuseum.org
